Forum on demolition of Lowell Mason House March 3
On March 3 at 8:30 p.m. at Town Hall, a hearing will be held on a request by a Needham developer to demolish the 1791 Lowell Mason House on 25 Adams St.
‘Irises in the Garden’ with Medfield Garden Club Feb. 10
It’s mid-winter and we consider it a small victory when the thermometer creeps up above freezing. Everything is brown as far as the eye can see. That makes it a perfect day for a stroll through an iris garden, right?
Howie Newman live at North Street Coffeehouse, Sat., Feb. 6
The North Street Coffeehouse will host a night of live music on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the First Parish U.U. Church, 26 North St.. The evening will consist of both a featured performer, Howie Newman, and an open mic session. The event will be held 7 – 10 pm.

"Growing Up In Medfield in the 1970s"
Growing up in Medfield in the 1970s will follow on two previous programs that drew big crowds and lots of laughs, as Richard DeSorgher’s local panel reminisces about the decade of big hair, double knits, Watergate, gas lines, stagflation, Rocky Woods, the US Bicentennial, the Medfield 325th celebration, etc. Come dressed in your best, or worst, 1970s outfit. Check in the back of your attic – prizes for the best dressed will be awarded.
The event will take place Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic meeting house.
Girls lacrosse team hosts fundraiser at Friendly's Jan. 27
On Wednesday Jan. 27 the Medfield Girls Lacrosse program will be hosting a fundraiser at Friendly’s from 5-8 p.m. Friendly’s Restaurant is graciously contributing 10 percent of their evening sales to the lacrosse program.
Medfield Public Library lists winter schedule
The Medfield Public Library Children's Room is happy to announce its Winter schedule. All programs are available for free, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Medfield Public Library.
First Parish hosts Children’s Solstice Sunday
First Parish Unitarian Universalist will get a one-day jump on the winter solstice Sunday when the children in the RE program perform “An Old Story of Hope, Darkness, and Light.” This intergenerational service is coordinated by Jeanette Ruyle, director of religious education at the church.
Scouts scheduling tree pickups
Medfield Boy Scout Troop 89 is accepting reservations for its annual curbside Christmas Tree Pickup. Trees will be picked up for recycling on Saturdays, January 2nd and January 9th. Please call Medfield Troop 89 at 508-359-1574 to make a reservation for a pickup. Please call well in advance of the requested pick-up date. This service is for Medfield residents only.
Medfield's Ali McCurdy to play in ‘Humbug!’ Dec. 19-20
The Franklin Performing Arts Company is pleased to announce the cast for its original Holiday Musical, Humbug! More than 200 professional and local amateur singers and dancers will participate in FPAC’s new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol which runs for 3 performances Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak St. in Franklin.
